EDGE System electrodes offer an exclusive design with proven performance. The patented EDGE System design reduces the risk of skin damage commonly associated with defibrillation.1,2,3 The design distributes the current density evenly over the entire surface area of the electrode, rather than concentrating it at the edges. Combined, EDGE System electrodes and ADAPTIV(TM) biphasic technology have been shown to reduce post-procedural pain after cardioversion of atrial fibrillation.4 EDGE System electrodes are available in a wide variety of options. Standardize on EDGE System defibrillation/ pacing/ECG electrodes with QUIK-COMBO(TM) connectors and maintain continuity of patient care by using one fast, easy electrode system that eliminates electrode changes between phases of patient treatment. EDGE System electrodes with REDI-PAK(TM) preconnect system allow connection prior to use, saving valuable time at patient arrival. EDGE System RTS electrodes are radiotransparent at typical adult x-ray levels, eliminating the need for removal during radiological procedures. EDGE System electrodes are available in adult and pediatric sizes-11996-000093. The Infant/Child Reduced Energy Defibrillation Electrodes can be used with LIFEPAK 500 AEDs with a pink connector or any LIFEPAK CR Plus defibrillator, while the pediatric EDGE System electrode-11996-000093 is for use with manual defibrillators. Adult EDGE System electrodes are compatible with or can be adapted to most LIFEPAK® products as well as many ZOLL® and Philips® defibrillators.

Replacing and Removing Electrodes: Replace QUIK-COMBO electrodes after 50 defibrillation shocks or 24 hours on the patient's skin or 8 hours of continuous pacing. To remove QUIK-COMBO or FAST-PATCH electrodes from the patient: 1 Slowly peel back the electrode from the edge, supporting the skin. Removing Therapy Electrodes from Skin 2 Clean and dry the patient's skin. 3 When replacing electrodes, adjust the electrode positions slightly to help prevent skin burns. 4 Close the protective cover on the QUIK-COMBO therapy cable connector when the cable is not in use. In addition, disconnect the defibrillation cable from the FAST-PATCH electrodes. 1 Press down around the electrode post. 2 Pinch the snap connector with the fingers of the other hand and pull straight up.
WARNING! Possible cable damage and ineffective energy delivery or loss of monitoring. Improper disconnection of the defibrillation cable may damage the cable wires. This can result in failure to deliver energy or loss of ECG signal during patient care. Position the cable so that it will not be pulled, snagged, or tripped over. Do not disconnect the defibrillation cable snap connectors from electrode posts or posts on testing devices by pulling on the cable. Disconnect the cable by pulling each cable connector straight out.
