The FR2 Defibrillator uses a disposable, lithium
manganese dioxide, long-life battery with a five-year shelf life
plus a (typical) four-year installed life. A spare battery should be
stored with the defibrillator. Additional batteries should be
purchased for defibrillators used frequently for training
and/or demonstrations.
The
sealed lithium manganese dioxide battery used to power the
HeartStart FR2 Defibrillator is provided in a pack that fits into a
compartment on the back of the defibrillator. Do not crush the
battery. Do not expose the battery to high heat or open
flames. Do not incinerate the battery. Do not mutilate the
battery or open the battery case. Install the battery in the
defibrillator before the date (MM-YYYY) shown on the associated
label. The HeartStart M5070A and 989803139301 batteries are
not rechargeable. Do not try to recharge, open, crush, or burn the
battery, or it may explode or catch fire. |

Battery and the FAA TSO C-142 regulation for use on commercial

and carries the CE-marking accordingly. Labeled with an install-by date of five years from
date of manufacture. Standby Life: Four years typical when battery
is installed by the install-by date. (Will power the AED in standby
state within the specified standby temperature range, assuming one
battery insertion test and no uses.) Available for sale
in US only. |

defibrillator's disposable battery can be consumed in a relatively
short period of time, the FR2+ Rechargeable Battery (M3848A)
provides a cost-effective option for frequent-use applications, such
as back-to-back sudden cardiac arrest responses and monitoring
patients during transport.FR2+ battery is fully
charged (using the Charger M3849A) in just 3 hours to provide 100
shocks (typical) or 5 hours (typical) of ECG display time. The "fuel
gauge" on the FR2+ displays the battery's remaining power. Under
normal conditions, the FR2+ Rechargeable Battery withstands 300
charge-discharge cycles or 2.5 years of use. The device complies
with the requirements of the Medical Device Directive, 93/42/EEC,
and carries the CE-marking accordingly. This product is
compatible with FR2 defibrillators sold after 12/1/01 only. To use
with an earlier FR2, your FR2 must be upgraded. Not all older FR2s
