 Physio Control Lifepak1000t AED Defibrillator Trainer Device has the operation extent and menu navigation of the LIFEPAK® 1000, but without delivery of shocks. It is the perfect training tool for LIFEPAK 1000. The Trainer provides every function of the LIFEPAK® 1000 – except for the shocking function. So displayed energies are only simulated and the unit is user configurable, 150 – 360 joules. Default energy output settings are 200, 300, 360 joules. 360 joules for every shock thereafter.

Physio Control Lifepak 1000t AED Defibrillator Trainer can be selected in the
setup whether a LIFEPAK(R) 1000 with or without ECG option is simulated.
Further Training scenarios allow the user to a menu of different training
scenarios which can be selected in the setup or alternatively by remote
control. Options in the Lifepak1000t Trainer allow the student use of
various Languages – The Trainer 1000 is delivered in different language
versions. There are several languages contained in one trainer, which can be
changed in the setup menu. The following language combinations are
available. • German, English, French, Dutch • Swedish, Danish, Norwegian,
Finnish, English (projected) • Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, English
(projected) • Slowenian, Croatian, Serbian, English (projected).

Physio
Control Lifepak1000t AED Defibrillator Trainer will be supplied with: remote control, remote control

On/Off
Button
With the
On/Off button you can start the Trainer 1000 and set the Trainer 1000
into Off mode after the training to save battery.
Shock-Button
The shock
button is by position and graphic identical to the one on the LIFEPAK®
1000. In case of emergency it can easily be identified from the training
sessions as the buttons look the same. When LED lights around the button
start blinking, you have to push it to release the simulated shock.
Menu-Button
By pushing
the menu button you can switch between the AED or manual mode. Only one
training device is needed to train all the modi of the LIFEPAK® 1000.
The setup menu provides several training options.
Softkeys
You can
control the menu with softkeys and change the settings. Softkeys provide
different functions in the various situation to make handling as easy as
possible.
Rechargeable battery
The
battery is rechargable. It does not have to be replaced as in LIFEPAK®
1000. The battery can be recharged via the plug and charging cable. A
further difference between the Trainer 1000 and the LIFEPAK® 1000 is the
the light weight of the battery in the Trainer 1000. The battery covers
up to four hours of training.
Body
The body
is made of high performance synthetics which is insusceptible to crushes
and features a low flammability (rated UL94-V0). The appearance provides
a high visual recognition factor to the LIFEPAK® 1000. But in case of
emergency there is no danger of a confusion with the LIFEPAK® 1000
because of the visual distinction by application of color.
Display
The
resolution, animations and diagrams are all identical to those on the
LIFEPAK® 1000. The display has a good contrast brightness to improve
readability.
Speaker
The
speaker provides good acoustic quality. Volume can be adjusted in three
steps to ensure that instructions are clearly understood and followed.
Plug
for Electrodes
To start
the training, the electrodes need to be plugged in. In case paddles are
not plugged in, you‘ll be advised to do so. After plugging in the
electrodes, the training can be continued.
Embossing of the LIFEPAK® 1000 functions
Battery-,
status- and maintenance buttons are non-functional. But they are in
detail identical to the LIFEPAK® 1000 buttons to come as close to
reality as possible in the training situation. They can therefore be
used for explanation and simulation purposes.
Remote
control/ wired plugin
While
training is taking place, the instructor can create several scenarios by
pressing different buttons on the remote control. The options vary from
changes in the simulated situation to a simulated fastening of
electrodes and the report of failure notices during training. The
student will be confronted with every emergency situation likely to
appear in reality. With the remote control training can be paused and
continued. You have the opportunity to control the Trainer 1000 by
infrared or cable.
Shed
for remote control
The remote
control has a neat little hatch to hide in on the backside of the body
so that it can be kept together with the Trainer 1000 without losing
anything.
Infrared-Interface
The
Trainer 1000 can be controlled via remote control. The
infrared-interface is wide enough to allow control of the Trainer 1000
from different positions within a four meter radius.
USB-Port
Trainer
1000 has a USB port on the backside of the body. This gives the
opportunity to plug in an USB drive and update various data like
software upgrades, new languages or guideline updates. The USB drive is
counterbored into the body, so the Trainer 1000 can still be used when
lying flat on the ground.

The Trainer 1000 SW version 1.10 corresponds to the Lifepak 1000’s new SW version 2.2.
It also, in addition to the old software, features:
-The option of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) immediately after switching the unit on. To do so, select ‘CPR First’ under ‘Initial CPR’ in the setup menu. The options that were already available in the earlier version can be selected using ‘Off’ and ‘Analyze First’. - The additional option of: ‘After Second NSA’, under ‘Pulse Check’
-Confirmation analysis no longer required
-No password protection of the setup menu
-Faster access to the setup menu and other functions
This device is not suitable for use on humans. It is designed for training purposes only and must be kept unmistakable separate from fully operative defibrillators.
Defibrillation is a recognised method for treating certain, potentially fatal, cardiac arrhythmias, i.e. abnormal heart beating. Defibrillation consists of delivering a therapeutic dose of electrical energy to the affected heart with a defibrillator. The from Coretec-Service is a training and simulation device for the work performed with an automated external defibrillator (AED). The Trainer 1000 is not capable of detecting cardiac arrhythmias or of delivering a defibrillation shock, but is a training device only that allows potential users to be trained in the use of a defibrillator by simulating corresponding sounds and visual indicators. Defibrillation is only one of the medical treatment methods available for resuscitating patients with shockable cardiac arrhythmias. Depending on the particulars of a case, patients might also require other treatment, such as:
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Supplemental oxygen
Medication
The Physio-Control LIFEPAK 1000t Trainer is designed only for training people in the use a defibrillator on adults and children over the age of 8, weighing more than 25 kg, and using standard training electrodes (grey connector). This ensures that trainees are taught which electrodes to use on which patients right from the outset of their training.
QUICK START
1 Turn the AED Trainer on
2 Press the PAUSE button on the remote control.
3 Select the required shock protocol from the table below and press the corresponding button on the remote control.
4 Press PAUSE again in order to verify your choice. The AED Trainer will turn itself off automatically.
5 You can now start the training session. Use the remote control to chose a particular problem situation. Please refer to the rear of the Quick Start Guide for more information.
6 Once the AED has been switched on, it will display the message CONNECT ELECTRODES. Connect the training electrodes and press the ELECTRODES button on the remote control to then proceed with an analysis.
Please note: The AED Trainer will automatically open the shock protocol that was used last. Please refer to the training system user manual for further information.
The Trainer 1000 can be used to simulate the following operating modes:
AED mode (with activatable and de-activatable paddle derivation)
Manual mode (with paddle discharge derivation)
ECG monitoring mode (requires Upgrade Kit)
AED MODE
As with real automated external defibrillators, the evaluates the selected ECG rhythms and issues specific instructions when detecting shockable rhythms or non-shockable rhythms. The delivery of shocks (defibrillation) to the simulated patient requires the active involvement of the person operating the defibrillator. MANUAL MODE This function allows expert users to decide on administering defibrillation shocks on the basis of the ECG analysis derived through the electrodes. ECG MONITORING MODE In ECG mode, the electrical activity of a patient‟s heart can be monitored using conventional ECG electrodes that are attached using snap fasteners. The readout provided on the screen represents the consolidated data from lead II. The Trainer 1000 does not issue any spoken instructions in this mode. If the CPPS (Continuous Patient Surveillance System) has been activated (setup menu), the user will be prompted to check the patient and change to defibrillation electrodes if a shockable cardiac rhythm is detected.
